Accessibility statement
Conformance status
fenflorida.com is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA.
“Partially” is a finding here, not a hedge: the site has not yet been audited by a third party, and the self-assessment covers only the pages currently published.
Checked automatically
Three checks block release on every change to the site:
- axe-core across every generated page, no violation tolerated;
- colour contrast, every text/background pair in the design system is computed and must reach at least 4.5:1; body text targets 7:1;
- Lighthouse, a minimum accessibility score of 95 on every page.
Two design rules are enforced mechanically because they are the most common cause of contrast defects: no colour is written outside the design-token stylesheet, and no style rule applies opacity to text.
Checked by hand
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
prefers-reduced-motionhonoured: all animation is neutralised.- Consistent heading structure and a skip link at the top of every page.
Known limitations
- No third-party audit has been carried out to date. One is planned before the member area opens.
- The interactive map of Central Florida, which will open with the “Region” section, will be paired with an equivalent table available to screen readers. Until that table exists, the map is not published.
- The site has not yet been tested with a screen reader by someone who uses one daily.
Technologies used
HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The site works without JavaScript, except for the mobile menu.
Assessment method
Self-assessment, carried out on 14 August 2026, using axe-core 4, Lighthouse, and manual keyboard testing on Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
